Steven “Kit” Enniss, 70, of Gwinn, Michigan, left us today, after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He died in the loving presence of his wife and family, while under the care of UP Home Health & Hospice. Kit was born in Draper, Utah. He excelled in sports in his youth and was an avid fan of all sports throughout his life. He graduated from the University of Utah with a Master of Social Work degree then went on to get his Clinical Social Work License. He spent his life helping people get through their struggles in life. His accomplishments are numerous, and have had a lasting impact on the juvenile justice system. Kit will be truly missed by many, but his family is feeling the horrendous void already. His wife, Gerri, of 32 years was by his side through sickness and health, from being homebound in the end, to their many cross country bicycle tours throughout their life together. The mischievous twinkle in Kit’s eyes was infectious and his grandsons will always remember his “dancing eyebrows”. He is survived by his wife, Gerri Enniss; children, Jaimie Enniss and Hollie (Brian) Enniss-Poe; grandsons, Ben & Jax; brothers Timm and Kevin; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Mike and also his mom and dad. We want to believe that Kit is in heaven, looking for a place to park his bicycle outside a tavern, so he can go in and get a cold beer and some chips! A celebration of Kit’s life will be held at a later date, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Our sincere gratitude goes out to Dr. Catherine Kroll and all of the caring staff from U. P. Home Health & Hospice. They made it possible for Kit to leave us, on his terms. The Canale-Gwinn Funeral Home is assisting the family where memories may be shared at canalefuneral.com. Condolences can be sent to the Enniss family at P.O. Box 453, Gwinn, MI 49841.
