Ruth C. Rosin, 87, of Marquette, passed away Thursday morning, March 23, 2017 at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility in Ishpeming with her family at her side and under the care of UP Home Health and Hospice.

Ruth was born on September 19, 1929 in Marquette to the late George and Saimi (Tyrvonen) Shorkey and was a lifelong area resident.  She worked for many years as in-home child care provider. 

Ruth was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Marquette and in her free time, enjoyed gardening and reading. 

Survivors include one daughter, Rochelle (Stephen) Walsh of Gwinn.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland Rosin, Sr. in 1987 and a son, Roland Rosin, Jr. on October 3, 2016. 

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 1 p.m. in Calvary Lutheran Church, 450 W. Ohio St., Marquette, with the Rev. Andrew Schaller officiating.  A dessert social will take place in the church immediately following the service.
