Robert “Bob” M. Larson, 93, of Marquette, died Thursday morning, July 6, 2017 at UP Health System-Marquette. He was born August 28, 1923 in Marquette, a son of the late Robert G. and Florence (Quilliam) Larson and was a lifelong area resident. Robert married Henrietta I. Pringle in Marquette on May 1, 1946. He was employed as a carpenter in his youth before taking a job with the railroad. He worked for Duluth South Shore and Soo Line as a Carman for more than 30 years before retiring in 1987. Robert was a member of St. Peter Cathedral. He enjoyed gardening, casino trips, time at his camp in Deerton and decorating the outside of his home for Christmas which he had won five trophies for his light displays. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Henrietta Larson of Marquette; children, Sandra Larson of Marquette, Robert J. Larson of Troy, MI and Deborah Larson of Marquette; sisters, Lyrel (Fred) St. John of Marquette and Eileen Suvanto of East Tawas, MI; four grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren & great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Paul; and siblings, Lowell and Daryl Larson and Lorraine Stickney. A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 10, 2017 at 1 p.m. at the Canale-Tonella Funeral Home with Deacon Gregg St. John officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Peter Cathedral, 311 Baraga Avenue, Marquette, MI 49855. Memories of Robert may be shared at
