Robert E. “Bob” Wilson, Sr., 65, of County Road 565, Negaunee, entered eternal life on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at his home in the loving care of his family and Lake Superior Hospice. He had fought a courageous battle with brain cancer for close to two years, never letting it get him down. Bob was born to the late Robert and Elizabeth (Iery) Wilson on June 12, 1951 in Marquette. He attended school in Marquette and in his senior year at Marquette High School joined the Army, where he served with the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in 1971. Returning home, he attended Northern Michigan University. Bob started working for the LS & I Railroad and retired in 2014 after 30 years. From 2006 to 2016 he was an EMT with the Forsyth Township EMS. Bob loved to camp with his family, loved hunting, antique shopping, auctions and traveling. He became quite creative after his retirement, making beautiful pieces of art from horseshoes, spoons or whatever he could find. He loved cars, new cars, old cars and classic cars. He loved to buy and work on them. Bob enjoyed his Goldwing Motorcycle and took many trips to the Smokey Mountain area. Bob also enjoyed trail riding with Pat and their special horses. Never, like in life, did he stick to the trails but struck out and made his own trail. His unique sense of humor and quick wit is something that will always be remembered. Happy Trails Bob. Bob is survived by his wife of 26 years, Patricia (Jones) Wilson of Negaunee; children, Robert E. Wilson, Jr. of Gwinn, Dane Wilson of Fort Knox, KY, Brett (Tammy) Lewis of Gladstone and Karri (Marcus) Falkenburg of Menasha, WI; grandchildren, Ashley (Tyler) Marohnic of Gladstone and Courtney (Jordon) Isetts of Escanaba; great grandchildren, Adelyn Marohnic, Aiden Marohnic, Annabel Isetts and Emma Rose Isetts; siblings, Sharon (Patrick) Depetro, Elaine Anderson, Wade Anderson and Michael (Laurie) Anderson; brother-in-law, Richard (Freda) Jones; also many special nieces, nephews and friends. Bob also leaves behind his special little Chihuahua, Emmy Lou, who never left his side. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Wilson; mother, Elizabeth (Wilson) Anderson; step father, Donald Anderson; and his in-laws, Jim and Marilyn Jones. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. in the Canale Gwinn Funeral Home with Rev. Todd Spranger officiating. Bob’s family will greet relatives and friends in the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service. A luncheon will follow at Grace Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Cancer Care of Marquette County, 122 W. Clark St., Negaunee, MI 49866. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Canale Gwinn Funeral Home where memories of Bob may be shared at
