Margaret Ann Morgan, 97, most recently of Highlands Ranch, CO, passed away Sunday, December 4 after a brief stay at Serenity House Assisted Living, Centennial, CO. A lifelong resident of Marquette, MI, Margaret moved to Highlands Ranch in 2013 with her husband Glen with whom she enjoyed a full and loving life. Glen died this past February at Wind Crest Retirement Community in Highlands Ranch. They had celebrated 70 years of marriage on January, 12, 2016. Margaret was a lifelong member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Marquette, where she and Glen were active in numerous church activities. Margaret worked as a secretary at Cliffs Dow Chemical Company in Marquette for many years. When she married Glen in January of 1946, she had to quit her job because the company didn't employ married women. Then in 1951, after the company changed its hiring practices, Margaret was recalled by Cliffs Dow where she worked until the company closed. In 1970, she then went to work in the Registar's Office at Northen Michigan University until she retired June 30, 1981. Margaret and Glen also have many fond memories of over 30 years at their camp in Sand River, MI, which they built in the early 50s. To escape the cold and snowy winters of Marquette, Margaret and Glen enjoyed many winters in Gulf Shores, AL. Glen and Margaret are survived by three children: Glen M. (Connie) of Highlands Ranch, CO, John P. of Ft. Atkinson, WI, and Ron P. (Jodie) of Littleton, CO; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, December 28 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church with Rev. Gregory Heikkala officiating. Burial will take place in the Holy Cross Cemetery next to family members. Both Margaret's and Glen's ashes will be laid to rest at that time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Margaret's memory to St. Michael Catholic Church, 401 W. Kaye Avenue, Marquette, MI 49855. Cremation is being arranged through Horan & McConaty Funeral Services, Denver, CO, with local funeral arrangements entrusted to Canale-Tonella Funeral Home where memories of Margaret may be shared online at canalefuneral.com.
