Helga D. Turner, 75, of Gwinn, passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at her home. Helga was born on March 8, 1942 in Stuttgart, Germany to the late Karl and Anna (Stickel) Dietrich. She grew up in Stuttgart and moved to Southern California in 1968. She had resided in Gwinn for the last 20 years. Helga enjoyed needlepoint, quilting and was an avid reader. She loved her grandchildren and her dogs, Lily and Lola. She is survived by her two daughters, Patti Turner and Jennifer (James) Osterman; three grandchildren, Hannah Newcomb, James (Joelene) Osterman and Mario Aguirre II; one great grandson, Hunter Johnson; her sister, Brunhilde Bartl; her dearest friend, Julie Shaw. Besides her parents, Helga was preceded in death by her furry companion, Bruno, who was there to greet her at the rainbow bridge. Per Helga’s wishes, private family services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Helga’s name to the Forsyth Township Public Library, 184 W. Flint Street, Gwinn, MI 49841 or UPAWS, PO Box 968, Marquette, MI 49855. The Canale Gwinn Funeral Home is assisting the family where memories may be shared at
