Dennis Albert Germain, 69, of Sands Township, died Monday afternoon, May 22, 2017 at U.P. Health System-Marquette. He was born January 13, 1948 in Escanaba, a son of the late Hector and Viola (Young) Germain. Dennis served in the US Army and was a Vietnam veteran. He worked in a warehouse in Ishpeming and then in distribution at Marquette Bottle Works for several years. His interests included fishing and reading. On July 4, 2004 he married Judy Willey at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Dennis is survived by his wife; step-daughters, Kerri Ann Doonan of Appleton, WI and Kelli Annette (Russell) Burt; grandchildren, Dominique, Ashley, Nicholas, Caden, Hannah, Dylan, Jason and Zachary; great-grandchildren, Ava Lynn and Ely; siblings, Shawn (Buttons) Germain of Gwinn, Mike Germain of Princeton, Keith Germain of Negaunee and James Germain of Gwinn; sister’s and brother-in-law, Sandra Gonzales of Niagara, WI, Cheryl Meenen of New Berlin, WI and Danny Willey; friends, Mike Miljour of Sands Township and Toby Millwood of Gwinn; and nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister. Friends may call at the Canale-Gwinn Funeral Home on Friday, June 9, 2017 from 2 to 4 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Friday in the funeral home at 4 p.m. with Rev. Ronald Libey officiating. A luncheon will follow the service at First Baptist Church in Gwinn. Food donations for the luncheon can be directed to Judy Germain 346-2455, Kim Jewit 346-2432 or to Sue Vercoe 346-9768.
