David William Potter, 75, of Chesterfield, MI, died October 15, 2016 at UP Health System Marquette. Beloved husband & companion to Liz and father to Kevin (Paula) and Liz's son, Rob (Lisa) and grandfather to Alex, Tyler, Ella and Anna. Brother to Coral (Ed), Mike (Donna) and Denise (Eric) and loving uncle and friend of many. Preceded in death by his loving wife and high school sweetheart, Mary and his parents, William "Bill" and Grace Potter. Dave was born in Detroit and graduated from Wilbur Wright HS and then went on to work as a Draftsman and Die Designer and became part owner of Value Engineering Co. before retiring. He was married to Mary for 36 wonderful years before her passing. After retirement he met Liz and together they embarked on a remarkable journey together RV'ing full time for 15+ years and seeing every part of United States and Canada together - returning back to MI several times each year for the annual trek to Deer Camp up in the UP and take in as much of his Grandkids hockey games and other events that they could fit in as well as seeing family and friends before heading back on the road usually to somewhere near a stream out west where his love of the outdoors and fly fishing with his buddy's would take him. Per his wishes a Private "Celebration" of his life for immediate family will be held. Donations in his memory may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes foundation. Memories of David may be shared at
