Benjamin R. “Ben” Constance, 62, of Marquette, died unexpectedly in his sleep Sunday, May 28, 2017 at his residence. Ben was born on April 21, 1955 in Marquette, one of five children born to Bob and Dorothy Constance. He was a 1973 graduate of Marquette Senior High School. On October 15, 1983 he married the former Tammy Trezona in Marquette. Ben was employed at Northern Michigan University for over 30 years as a preventative maintenance technician. As a youth, he was active in the Marquette Junior Hockey program and also played hockey for the Marquette Redmen in high school. Ben was a wonderful father and grandfather and relished time spent with his family. He also loved going on walks with his dog, Duke. Survivors include four children, Amber (Christian) Fladung, Alyshia (Ashley Bartle) Constance, Shaylee Constance and Devan Constance, all of Marquette; five grandchildren, Olivia, Emmie, Lydia, Avery, and Julliana; siblings, Catherine Constance of Cincinnati, OH, Paul Constance of Marquette, Emily (Tim) Keegan of San Ramon, CA, and Betsy (John) Jaakola of Marquette; also two brothers-in-law, Don and Bob Trezona and a sister-in-law, Cindy (Joseph) Rivord. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Tammy Constance on March 7, 2016. Friends may call at the Canale-Tonella Funeral Home on Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. where a funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Leon Jarvis officiating. Refreshments and appetizers will be served during the visitation. Inurnment will follow at the Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date. Memories may be shared at
