Amy Lynn Rosemergy, 51, of Marquette, passed away at her residence Sunday evening, February 26, 2017 with her loving family at her side. Amy was born on August 20, 1965 in Calumet, one of three children born to William and Joan (Perrault) Rosemergy. She was a 1983 graduate of Calumet High School. Amy formerly attended Madonna University in Livonia and later graduated from Northern Michigan University with a degree in Sociology. She was instrumental in founding Superior Alliance for Independent Living (SAIL) in 1998 and served as its first executive director. In her free time, Amy enjoyed following all Michigan sports teams. She also enjoyed listening to Christian music and travelling across the U.S. She had resided in both Marquette and Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Survivors include her father, Bill Rosemergy of Calumet; one sister, Judy Rosemergy of Marquette; aunt and uncle, Jack and Judy Preston of Livonia and LacLaBelle and their family; also several other close friends and beloved care givers. She was preceded in death by her mother, Joan Rosemergy and a brother, Billy Rosemergy. A celebration of Amy's life will take place on Friday at 3 p.m. in the Canale-Tonella Funeral Home in Marquette with Rev. Leon Jarvis officiating. The Rosemergy family will greet relatives and friends from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. A dessert social will take place immediately following the service in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Oak Pointe Church, 50200 W. Ten Mile Road, Novi, MI 48374 in Amy's memory.
